Well we’re past the halfway point in the month now, and you can see yesterday’s Oatmeal recipe here
Guess what:
I FINALLY FOUND ALPHABET SOUP
It’s tomato though (yuck)
I hope I mentioned before, but my firm belief is that tomato soup is not a soup
At most it’s a broth
It’s gross
I’ll have to get ingredients to actually make it taste good, so it won’t be immediately when I make and post the soup, but keep an eye out
Now let’s get into today’s soup and see what there is for the second half of the month
Zuppa Toscana
This one’s a pretty easy one to make, because there’s not too many ingredients
Plus: you technically don’t even have to make it yourself!
You do need to make sure your vehicle is drivable so you can get everything you need for the soup
Like I mentioned previously, my car is slightly damaged now, but it thankfully still runs
What you will need
A working vehicle
Money
The first thing you’ll need to do is drive to your nearest Olive Garden
For some people, this may be either the hardest or longest step depending on where you live
Luckily, there was an Olive Garden just 15 minutes away from my place
Once you get a seat, order the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks, and choose the Zuppa Toscana
The first thing you will receive is the breadsticks
This is pretty good bread, and it’s completely okay to eat some of it, but don’t fill up on bread because it’s not legally soup
You will next receive Olive Garden’s unlimited salad
I do really like their salad. It tastes really good
I do want to emphasize though that their salad IS NOT SOUP
It’s like the antithesis of soup, so do not eat too much of it during Souptember, or I think you might get arrested or something
Finally! Your soup
The waiter or waitress will offer to shred some cheese on it, and be sure to tell them when to stop or I think they’ll have to keep shredding until their arms fall off
It’s a really good soup, and I almost always choose it when I come to the restaurant
If you liked it as much as me, you can ask for a to-go bowl and take some home
I personally did, and leftover soup always is good, and I have another soup container!
Hope you enjoyed your soup today, and see you tomorrow!
Overall, I think it’s been a pretty good month so far, you can read yesterday’s chili post here
You know, except for the fact that my car got damaged recently, but I’m working on getting it repaired
I don’t know, this intro part it probably the hardest part to write for these posts, because I can never think about what to say
I don’t want to reveal the soup this early in the recipe, because most recipes have long walls of text before they get into the actual recipe, and I want to use that as inspiration for my writing
Speak for long periods before getting to the point
We could only be so lucky we have recipes to do that for us
So yesterday we made a really good Pumpkin soup, but I want to take this day’s intro to talk about something that’s been bothering me recently during this soup month
It’s regarding a soup that I really wanted to make
Alphabet soup
I looked everywhere in stores nearby, and even online, and I could not find it anywhere
It’s like the soup doesn’t even exist!
And I know it does. I’ve had it when I was younger, and there even was a movie in the middle 90’s that had an entire scene about it
I mean look at this!
I was going to make some great alphabet soup, and I could do something fun with the letters because I’m doing writing about the soup. It could’ve been really meta and cool
But now I cannot make the soup
I found alphabet noodles for sale, but they’re located in Virginia, and that’s too far do drive to get them, so if I decide to order online delivery, it will be a while before I make that soup
Well keep an eye out I guess to see if I make it or not
