In this movie, the prequel trilogy ends and the Sith get revenge.
Revenge for what exactly? We might find out…

Back in 2005, this was the last expected Star Wars media. There was so much marketing for it. From Burger King toys, to Pepsi ads and I even remember a game on the Cheeto website that was about Star Wars.
There were also a few video games that released based on the movie. The curious thing about it is that the games were released at least a week before the movie was, so if anyone started playing the games on day one they’d basically get the plot for the film.
In between watching this movie and writing this post I went ahead and played some of the games that were released around the time this movie came out. Those games were the Revenge of the Sith game based on the movie, and the original Lego Star Wars Game.
I took screenshots of the games as I was playing, so for as much as I can I will be using them in this post.

General Grevious has invaded the capitol planet of Corusant and has captured the Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. At the end of the Clone Wars show this was mentioned, and Anakin and Obi-Wan were tasked in infiltrating the main enemy ship and rescuing him.
They made it to the main ship and had to find the Chancellor, exploring multiple levels of the ship until they found where he was being held.

They eventually found him and his captor, Count Dooku. If you remember, Dooku was the leader of the Separatists in Episode II and The Clone Wars.
Obi-Wan gets knocked unconscious and Anakin defeats him, and gets tempted by Palpatine to execute him.

The three get captured by General Grevious, who is on the bridge of the ship but escapes. Anakin has to crash land the ship and not get burned up in the atmosphere in the meantime.

Padmé and Anakin are going to be parents and Anakin is struggling with dreams and refuses to see a therapist.
Obi-Wan is tasked to hunt down Grevious and end the war for good, and Anakin is tasked with spying on the Chancellor, because the jedi are not trusting him. During the Clone Wars show, he amassed a large amount of “emergency” power and in season 6 he gained control of the banks.
Kenobi find Grevious and they duel for the last time. Grevious runs, and Kenobi gives chase, ending on a landing platform for Grevious’ escape ship. Kenobi exposes the cyborg’s organs and shoots him dead.
I do think that with the addition of watching The Clone Wars show, this movie is definitely better than if you were to watch it in 2005. Grevious was not introduced in the series until this film, but with the show he and Kenobi fought multiple times and had a bitter rivalry.
Anakin and his pal Friendpatine are talking more, and he reveals that he knows Sith secrets. Anakin goes to jedi master Mace Windu and reveals that Palpatine is a sith, and Windu goes with a few other jedi to arrest him.
It doesn’t work.
Anakin arrives just as Palpatine killed all but Mace. Mace Windu fights back and has Palpatine cornered, and pleads to Anakin to save him. Anakin stops Windu, and Palpatine, now revealed as Sidious, throws Windu out a window.

Sidious dubs Anakin now as Darth Vader, and orders him to go to the jedi temple and kill them all.
He then makes a recording to all clones, and also orders them to do the same.

All across the galaxy, jedi are being killed, and the only known survivors we see are Obi-Wan and Yoda.
They meet and form a plan to go back to the temple to discover that Anakin and Sidious are the ones who orchestrated this.
Obi-Wan now has to go to a lava planet to fight Anakin/Vader.

Anakin is defeated, and loses all of his limbs. Then most of him gets lit on fire from the lava.

Sidious finds him soon after, and takes him to a remote medical facility.
Around the same time, Padmé is going into labor and gives birth to twins

Padmé dies after childbirth, and the twins Luke and Leia are separated and put into hiding.
Darth Vader is complete, and fully in the dark side.

And that’s basically the movie!
A dark day for all those jedi fans out there. The Empire has taken over, and seemingly no hope to stop them.
I really enjoyed the action sequences in the film, and as I said before, the show was a good addition to watch so people can get extra context to how the war is going and who some of these new characters are.
Coming up next is a few more tv shows, and then a video game!
