Chapter 13

Boss Baby: An Oscar study [FINALE – What’s Next]

Last night I watched The Emoji Movie. It’s not very good.

It does not have an interesting plot, characters, or great jokes even. I’m not particularly angry at the movie, or hate it currently, it’s just really sad.

I am glad that this movie did not win an Oscar nomination.

The Boss Baby actually did have a somewhat interesting plot, and I was slightly entertained in parts of the movie. I’m not saying that I actually liked it, because I didn’t, but it is better than The Emoji Movie.

Last week I watched The Boss Baby again for the second time and recorded it. I didn’t record the movie, just ourselves. You can watch it here, and if you want to watch along with us to see the picture, the movie is currently on Netflix.

The Academy Awards are next week, and we’ll finally see that Coco probably  wins best animated movie. I’m partially okay with this, only for the fact that it’s not The Boss Baby. The part I’m not okay with is that Disney is an animation award powerhouse. Other movies either need to be better, or have better marketing strategies to be better considered.

Who knows? Maybe this is the year that Disney loses its 5 year winning streak, and Loving Vincent or The Breadwinner will take the award.

I did not see any of the other movies nominated, but I do plan on it because they do look like really good animation. Except Ferdinand. That movie looks as appealing to me as The Emoji Movie did: just a really large disappointment. The Breadwinner was nominated and I found in on Netflix, so I’ll definitely watch that soon.

This is the end of my The Boss Baby study. I’m not going to be writing about this movie on any more Sundays. Go and watch a good movie.
